Jerry Jones Admits The Media Was Right About The Cowboys

Jerry Jones’ Dallas Cowboys are an absolute dumpster fire. It appears that even he knows it at this point. Jerry isn’t an NFL owner who normally takes media criticism very well. In fact, he’s been known to lash out during his interviews from time to time. This year, Jerry Jones has a different tone as he discusses his team’s fate in the NFC East.

In an interview with 105.3 The Fan, Jerry Jones was asked what the media may have gotten wrong about his Dallas Cowboys team. This is a question you would think Jones would be able to handle quite well. Like I said before, he loves to bash the media. Well, Jones surprised many when he declared that the media was pretty spot on about the Cowboys, even saying that they ‘nailed it’.

“Well, first of all, that’s about as fair as you want to get right there. I really think you’ve nailed it,” Jones said, according to 247 Sports. “I think your criticisms — we really tried to bolster up the center of our defensive front, we didn’t get it done with our because of a combination of things; injury, production of (Dontari) Poe, things like that. We didn’t get it done from the standpoint of those guys coming in and joining younger guys, and making the transition that we wanted to make.

“And I think y’all have nailed that. You’ve said this the defense looks like the guys are thinking, having to think too much and having to do things that might not be as natural as you would like to have.”

Jerry Jones’s Dallas Cowboys are currently 2-7, tied for last place in the NFC East. The craziest part? The Cowboys are still in the hunt. They have one of the worst defenses in the NFL, and haven’t survived life without injured star quarterback Dak Prescott well, but they still have a shot to win the division. The Eagles are in first place in the NFC East with a record of 3-5-1.

Jerry Jones knows his Cowboys team is one of the worst in the NFL. The question now becomes, what is he gonna do about it? The NFC East should be up for grabs for the immediate future. Jerry Jones still has time to build a winner in Dallas.
