Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase hasn’t clicked in Training Camp, and his struggles were on full display over the weekend.
During Friday’s preseason game against the Washington Football Team, Chase dropped several passes that should have undoubtedly been caught by a player of his caliber.

After the game, Bengals coach Zac Taylor got real blunt when speaking on Ja’Marr Chase’s recent issue with drops.
“We just expect our receivers to catch the ball, it’s as simple as that,” Taylor said.

In latest 7 on 7 red zone, Ja’Marr Chase runs a great route, Burrow puts a dime on him at goal line.
Stone cold drop. Pick Vonn Bell.
Chase with a loud f— as he jogs away and Burrow comes up to him with a helmet tap before he goes back to the huddle.

Long, lonely walk for Chase after 7s. Goes all the way to other end to get a towel. No one near him. Uzomah finally approaches and gives a quick shoulder massage, a few words and a slap on the shoulder pads.

Despite the panic from just about everyone around the Bengals, some former great receivers were quick to come to the aid of Ja’Marr Chase.
I know his feeling…he’s nervous a lil bit.. he will be ok… he will be a RAW talent in the League…. https://t.co/ZjDkHG0oMT

Former Bengals star Chad Johnson took it a step further, saying Ja’Marr Chase will lead the AFC North in multiple categories.
He’s an elite talent & will make the necessary adjustments, he will lead the AFC North in yards/receptions 🐅 https://t.co/KCckYDgm5q

Ja’Marr Chase is clearly struggling and working out the kinks out of the field right now. But he showcased an elite ability to make plays during his time at LSU, and never really had an issue with dropped passes.
It feels way too early to be pushing the panic button on the Bengals receiver.
