Jalen Hurts Donated $30,000 For A New Home To A Family Battling Cancer

Jalen Hurts has demonstrated leadership both on and off the field in his rookie season. Now he continues to show why he is thought of so highly by his teammates and peers. The Eagles are going through somewhat of a tumultuous offseason. However, that didn’t stop Jalen Hurts from being a blessing to another family. Hurts surprised a family battling cancer with a $30,000 donation toward a new home.

Jalen Hurts got involved with Erick, a seven-year-old that is battling cancer, through a charity called Alex’s Lemonade Stand. The rookie quarterback then found out that the family was living in a two-bedroom trailer with five children. He felt that the least he could do was help them find a new place to live. After doing so, he surprised the family with a $30,000 donation toward a new home, as seen in the video.

Jalen Hurts has been complimented for his character ever since his days at Alabama. The rookie carried his philanthropic ways into the NFL. Hurts served as the backup to Carson Wentz for most of his rookie campaign. But that didn’t stop him from building relationships both on and off the field. This $30,000 donation is just a small snippet into the big picture of the leader that is Jalen Hurts. And with rumors of Carson Wentz getting traded, Hurts may have the opportunity to step up as the leader for the Eagles on the field.
