It’s National Chicken Wing Day And Lou Williams Has To Spend It In Quarantine: Ranking The Top 5 Chicken Wing Hot Spots In The US

Magic City will have one less customer for #NationalChickenWingDay as Lou Williams is back in the bubble in quarantine. As a matter of fact, there’s a lot of sales revenue in that bubble that chicken joints will be missing out on this year. I, on the other hand, will be enjoying some freshly cooked buffalo wings for dinner tonight. I’m licking my chops just thinking about it. In honor of National Chicken Wing Day, let’s take a look at my top 5 restaurants in the US to find finger-likin’ hot wings.

No. 5) Zaxby’s

The Southen United States

Zaxby’s is more well known for the spicy chicken sandwich. If you aren’t from the south you may not have even heard of Zaxby’s. I’ve only been there one time when I was in Alabama for spring break, but I ordered their classic hot wings. In the words of Larry David, they were “pretty, pretty, pretty good”. There’s also a strong possibility it was just good drunk food.

No.4)  Points East Pub

Milwaukee, WI

As a Cubs fan, I hate to give props to anything Milwaukee, but these are some good wings. It takes some time to get your order, but it’s well worth the wait. Unless you go there on Sunday during a Packers game. A nice thing about this restaurant is the cook, himself, will deliver the wings to your table. And they are some of the best in the midwest.

No.3) HaiSous

Chicago, IL

Ah, Chicago. That’s more like it. These wings probably aren’t for everyone, but if you like your food with an Asian zing this is the place for you. The wings bathe in a garlic brine before being twice-fried and coated with your favorite sauces. And some of them definitely bring the heat. If you go here once you’re guaranteed to go back.

No. 2) Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap

Chicago, IL

Okay, I may have a Chicago bias being from Illinois, but these are legitimately good wings. Their traditional hot wings are fantastic. They also have several different levels of spicer wings for the braver souls. The XXX wings are made with habaneros, ghost peppers, and scorpion peppers (aka the world’s hottest pepper). Make sure to order some milk and cold beer with those if you want to leave with your taste buds.

No. 1) J.R. Cricket’s

Atlanta, GA

These wings are so good they got a special mention on Donald Glover’s Atlanta for a mythical flavor called “lemon pepper wet”. I went there prior to the show’s release, so I can’t say that I’ve had that flavor. However, The Dirty Bird Wings are second to none. They’re a mixture of lemon pepper, BBQ, and buffalo. I mean, just look at these things.

Happy National Chicken Wing Day everyone!
