As Hamza Choudhury and Wesley Fofana held up the Palestinian flag in support of the troubled state after Leicester City’s FA Cup victory over Chelsea yesterday, bubble burst.

You might not have heard, but it’s been a bloody week between Israel and Palestine, as has not been witnessed since 2014.

It started out first that an Israeli air strike had reportedly killed at least 10 persons in a refugee camp in the Gaza Strip, while a Palestinian rocket attack killed a man in Israel. The mortality rate has since increased, with more than 139 people killed in Gaza since Monday as Israel continue to launch attacks. No less than nine has been recorded in Isreal. So, it’s been chaos and violence all over.

A number of sportsmen aside the Foxes stars had also shown support for Palestine, and even Joe Biden is said to have held peace talks with both of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel and President Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian leader about the need to broker a cease-fire.

Maybe this is way too complicated for one to unterstand the whole conflict therein. But then not hard to understand how bad it feels that this is bloody genocide, and most importantly the need for truce.

Footballers are human, and just like Choudhury and Fofana can be emotional and relay their feelings about something the best way they can. We needn’t really lose sleep on it because someone else thinks otherwise.
