Florida Man Charged with Three Felonies After Using COVID-19 Relief Funds to Purchase a Lamborghini

MIAMI A South Florida man fraudulently obtained $3.9 million in federal coronavirus relief loans, using some of the money to buy a $318,000 Lamborghini Huracan, prosecutors said.

David T. Hines, 29, of Miami, was arrested and charged last week with bank fraud, making false statements to a financial institution and engaging in transactions in unlawful proceeds.

Defense attorney Chad Piotrowski said Hines is a legitimate business owner who is anxious to tell his side of the story.

I’ll take” Stupid shit that happened in Florida” for $800, Alex. What a dumb idiot this Hines guy is. This likely isn’t grotesque enough to qualify but maybe, just maybe, this article makes it on a future “Florida Man Challenge” for July 28th birthdays.

And this guy didn’t even try to hide it either. According to USA Today, Hines’ had the Lamborghini “registered jointly in his name and the name of one of his companies.” USE A FAKE NAME, GUY!

There just needs to be a plan here. It seems like this jabroni legitimately thought the government was giving him $3 million to spend it on whatever he pleased. Now he’s facing prison time after being charged with three felonies; one count of bank fraud, one count of making false statements to a financial institution, and one count of engaging in transactions in unlawful proceeds, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

Not since the MLB’s COVID response have we seen such a poorly planned venture. If there was ever a Rob Manfred of using PPP loan payments to purchase luxury items then this guy is it.
