Florida Football Team Has Positive COVID-19 Tests Days After Dan Mullen Lobbies For Stadium At Full Capacity

Florida head football coach Dan Mullen made news this week when he declared that he wanted to “pack the swamp” for Saturday’s game against defending champion LSU. Now, it looks like that game is in jeopardy altogether.

That’s a tough pill to swallow for Florida, especially when your coach was making these comments days ago.

Mullen comes off looking like an idiot here. Not only is he blaming a crowd for an ugly game against Texas A&M, but he seems delusional. There is simply no way we can have a full 90,000 people at a stadium right now. He should be happy if any fans are allowed in “the swamp”.

With today’s outbreak, now Mullen would be lucky to play LSU at all this season. It’s too bad, too. I was really looking forward to seeing how Florida and LSU would both rebound from soul-crushing losses last week.

However, this is where we are as a society right now. If our leaders do not take this virus seriously, then it will be hard to have sporting events. I hope that all the Florida players recover from this, and return to the field sometime in the near future.

Maybe this can be a wake up call to Dan Mullen and the University Of Florida. Start taking COVID-19 a little bit more seriously, you’re risking the health of your students and student-athletes if you don’t.
