Female American Player Brianna Decker Suffers Gruesome Leg Injury After Getting Slewfooted

The 2022 Winter Olympics kicked off this week, but unfortunately Brianna Decker’s campaign is over after suffering a gruesome leg injury in USA’s opener.

With the NHL not allowing their players to go to the Olympics this year once again, the woman’s national teams are the main hopes for North American fans.

The woman’s national team took on Finland in their opening game of the round robin games.

About half way through the first period, USA player Brianna Decker was slewfooted from behind by a Finland player.

Both players appeared to be shaken up after the play, but as you can hear on the video, Decker yelled in pain after the contact.

Team USA won 5-2 in their opener, but Decker has been ruled out for the rest of the Olympics.

Decker posted a message to fans Saturday morning as she is appreciative of all the messages and show of support for her. She plans on staying in Beijing with her team while they go for gold.
