Being a running back in the NFL used to be one of the best positions in football. In fantasy football circles, it was the most important. But as injuries have continued to mount by the year, and pass happy offensive coordinators have continued to infiltrate the NFL, the workhorse running back is all but dead.

One running back who wants as many touches as possible is Ezekiel Elliott. He wants to get fed each and every down. His mother Dawn has also noticed the continued devaluing of Running Backs, and has a message.

Running seems to be something  in the past. Passing is clearly the future. With completion percentages across the NFL continuing to rise, your average handoff just doesn’t happen as often as it used to.

There’s also a growing trend among NFL teams to plug just about anyone in the backfield.

It’s definitely hurt fantasy football, and Zeke’s mom’s feelings. Great message and great mug. Hopefully the All Running Backs Matter movement gets going.
