Ex-49ers Pro Bowler Dana Stubblefield Facing Life in Prison After Being Convicted of Raping a Disabled Woman

Ex-49ers defensive tackle and three-time Pro Bowler Dana Stubblefield has been found guilty of raping a disabled woman and faces life in prison.

In 2015, Stubblefield was accused of raping a disabled woman who he was interviewing to be his kids’ babysitter. Stubblefield claimed that he was being extorted.

The incident occurred April 9, 2015. Stubblefield eventually was charged with sexually assaulting a developmentally disabled woman he invited to his Morgan Hill, California, home to interview as a prospective babysitter.

Stubblefield faces 15 years to life in prison for his conviction of rape by force, oral copulation and false imprisonment. It was also determined that he used a gun in the act.

The woman reportedly left the interview after 20 minutes, but returned when Stubblefield texted her that he would pay her for her time and mileage. Upon her return, Stubblefield raped her according to prosecutors.

Stubblefield, 49, spent seven of his 10 seasons with the 49ers. He made three Pro Bowls and was named to the First Team All-Pro in 1997 while also winning a Super Bowl with the Niners in the 1994 season.
