Eddie Jackson Makes Ill-Advised Move To Call Out Bears Legend Lance Briggs Following Packers Loss

Following his dominant sophomore season in 2018, Chicago Bears safety Eddie Jackson looked like one of the best up-and-coming defenders in the entire NFL.

But now that Jackson has failed to continue his ballhawking ways for the past three seasons, his flaws have been even more noticeable. Mainly, Jackson struggles with tackling in open space. And that was on full display when the Bears lost to the Packers on Sunday.

So during the postgame show, former Bears linebacker and current analyst at NBC Sports Chicago, Lance Briggs, was critical of the young safety.

Eddie Jackson must have heard the criticism, because he fired right back at Lance Briggs in a since-deleted tweet.

Lance Briggs is currently a Pro Football Hall of Fame nominee, along with being a three time All-Pro, and seven time Pro-Bowler during his illustrious career.

Eddie Jackson has not lived up to the billing after receiving a massive extension from the Bears. But still sprinkles in some big games among the poor performances (like we saw on Sunday afternoon).

Despite Jackson’s struggles, he’s far from the Bears’ biggest problem. The team’s offense currently averages the lowest PPG in the NFL despite some flashes of brilliance from rookie QB Justin Fields.

Since Matt Nagy arrived in Chicago the constant theme has been a bottom-of-the-pack offense holding back a productive defense, and that sentiment remains.

However, Eddie Jackson has to put his money where his mouth is if he’s going to lash out at fan-favorites such as Lance Briggs.
