Dolphins Owner Stephen Ross Reportedly Wanted Brian Flores To Meet With Tom Brady Prior To Buccaneers Signing

At this point, it’s basically the worst-kept secret in the NFL that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross isn’t the biggest believer in Tua Tagovailoa as a franchise quarterback.

For the past year, there have been numerous rumors linking Ross to conversations surrounding the Texans and Deshaun Watson. But because on an impending legal matter, the two sides have not been able to work out a trade.

So when it was reported that Stephen Ross wanted former coach Brian Flores to meet with a quarterback prior to the 2020 season, many assumed it was Watson.

But a new report indicates that the Fins owner was looking for Flores to do some recruiting for Tom Brady to come join the team.

It appears that Brian Flores didn’t agree to this whole yacht date with Tom Brady, which may be part of the reason why the Dolphins brass surprisingly fired the coach following this season.

Now, Flores has opened a racism lawsuit against the Dolphins, Giants, Broncos and NFL over their hiring practices regarding black NFL coaches.

Brian Flores has a history with Tom Brady, as the two were paired together when Flores was an assistant with Bill Belichick’s Patriots. But when push came to shove, it looks like the former coach dropped the ball for Stephen Ross on the recruitment pitch.

I think it’s safe to say that things ended up working out for Brady — who won the Super Bowl in his first season with Tampa Bay.

To this day, Stephen Ross is left trying to gauge whether or not Tua Tagovailoa is the right guy to get his team over the hump. And as for Brian Flores, we’ll wait and see if any team brings him in as their head coach this offseason.
