New York Yankees Release Chilling Derek Jeter Tribute Video Ahead Of Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony

It’s finally Derek Jeter day in Cooperstown.

After COVID pushed back this year’s Hall of Fame induction, Jeter is finally having his ceremony about seven years after he hit the iconic walk-off single during his last game at Yankee Stadium.

With fans and former teammates swarming social media with thoughts on Derek Jeter, the Yankees social media team put together an awesome tribute to “The Captain”.

Derek Jeter recently opened up on how he was feeling ahead of his Hall of Fame induction day.

“As strange as this sounds or may sound, I’m trying not to think about it,” Jeter said last week, according to the Associated Press. “I just want to go there and experience it. I’m trying to keep it out of my mind because I do want to go in there with no preconceived notions of what may happen.”

“I want to experience it and try to enjoy it. It’s been a long time coming,” he added.

Derek Jeter has distanced himself from the Yankees organization ever since he took over ownership with the Marlins. But today, he’s a Yankee again. And the fans from the Bronx have swarmed to Upstate New York to share in on his special day.

“The most important thing during my career, what I wanted to be remembered as, I wanted to be remembered as a Yankee. That was it,” Derek Jeter told the AP. “That was the only team I ever wanted to play for since as far back as I could remember. As you start playing your career you start thinking about legacy. It’s much more than what you do on the field. It’s the legacy you leave off the field.”

RE2PECT. Today should be a special day.
