LeBron Getting Dragged After House Party Remake Revealed

LeBron James quest to conquer the entertainment world continues, and this time LeBron is trying to capitalize off another classic movie, House Party. The original movie was released in 1990, and all these years later, another rehashing has gotten the green light. The movie has become a cult classic over the years. In a recent interview with TMZ, actor Rotimi assured fans that LeBron’s upcoming remake is going to have a fresh spin.

“We have a similar storyline a bit, but it’s just new age. It’s a fresh spin on it for sure,” The reboot’s co-star told the outlet. “We’re not playing the same Kid and Play but it’s like a new-age version of them but not them, if that makes sense. It’s not their sons or anything like that.”

“We knew that creating a generational movie like that and touching that legacy…we have to bring our A-Game. So, we didn’t take it lightly and it’s just super funny. We were able to ad-lib a lot and our director [Charles Kidd II] was really amazing at that. We just had fun and we made it today’s humor and it’s gonna be very, very special.”

Twitter’s not necessarily in agreement:

Hollywood is so afraid to try original material, they believe for the movie to be profitable it has to have a built in audience.

Hopefully this “Intellectual Property” trend will die.

LeBron needs to carve his own path, not try to rehash someone else’s.
