UFC fighters Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones do not like each other. At all. They picked up right where their previous spat left off, with their back and forth on social media today. It all started when Jon Jones called DC a “quitter” after retiring from UFC following his loss to Stipe Miocic.
This was in response to Cormier talking about Jones’s failed drug tests.
“One of the most talented guys you’ll ever meet but again for me bad [drug] tests eliminate you from the conversation,” Cormier told MMA Fighting.
Then, the fight was continued on Twitter.
Is that any way to talk to your superior Daniel? 😂 By the time I’m 40 I’ll be about five years into my retirement. That’s what happens when you win the big ones 🤷🏾♂️ Who knows maybe you’ll be the best high school coach who ever lived, pulling for you buddy

And then there’s this, always makes a great closing argument. Don’t talk shit and I won’t have to be so mean. Poke the lion and I may just hurt your feelings 🤷🏾♂️ I’m here all day ladies and gentlemen https://t.co/335OFeyhIQ

Jon Jones has had a history of testing positive for PEDs. His most impactful positive test came before his scheduled fight with Cormier at UFC 200 when Jones tested positive for two banned substances — clomiphene and letrozole. He was pulled from the event, though he did go on to beat Cormier in the rematch. However, that decision was then overturned when Jones tested positive for Turinabol, an anabolic steroid.
Jon Jones recently gave up his light heavyweight belt in anticipation to move up to the heavyweight class. He does not have a fight lined up yet, but he is working closely with Dana White to find a heavyweight opponent. When Jon Jones does fight again, it will be a highly anticipated bout.
Jones is undoubtedly one of the most talented fighters of all-time, but will have an asterisk due to his failed drug tests. The GOAT debate will certainly rage on, and I wouldn’t expect Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones to squash their beef anytime soon.
