Conservative Sports Media Mogul Clay Travis Announces Partnership With FOX

Clay Travis has made a big announcement about his conservative sports website, Outkick, today.

Travis took to Twitter to announce that a deal is in place for FOX to purchase “Outkick”, which would allow for the company to expand.

“Big news: Fox is buying @outkick and we are expanding massively. After ten years of ownership, I’m ecstatic about where we are headed together,” Travis wrote on his Twitter, while linking to an article on the deal.

Clay Travis has been in the news a lot over some takes that rub people the wrong way. Most recently, Travis was under fire for getting a little too excited about former Vanderbilt kicker Sarah Fuller being benched by her soccer team.

Clay Travis would expand on what the new deal with Fox means for Outkick.

“I came to the conclusion this spring we needed scale, a big partner who could take our video, radio, podcasts, gambling, and website content to the proverbial next level,” Clay Travis said. “Over the past several months many companies put in bids to buy Outkick. That’s because our business is thriving, particularly our sports gambling business, where we are one of the largest affiliate sites in the country, signing up customers in all ten states where online gambling is legal. Sports gambling is poised to explode in the years ahead and I wanted to make sure whichever partner we picked fit our company’s direction. Who could merge all the disparate pieces of daily Outkick: sports, politics, news, opinion, pop culture and sports gambling video, radio, podcast, and written content into one cohesive media experience?

“The answer, after much debate, consultation and consideration, was Fox, the American leader in sports, politics, news and opinion. And the media company, I believe, best positioned to win in the world of sports gambling in the future as well.”
It seems like Clay Travis and Outkick are ready to take off. Whether you love him or hate him, he must be doing something right.
