Bryson DeChambeau Got A Text From Tiger Woods Before Winning The Arnold Palmer Invitational

Bryson DeChambeau’s skills were on full display this weekend when he took home the trophy at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. DeChambeau showed off his incredible power all weekend by hitting monster bombs all over the course, including carrying the water well over 300 yards away on the par 5 sixth hole on multiple occasions.

After notching the victory by one stroke over Lee Westwood, Bryson DeChambeau revealed that he got some motivation from Tiger Woods, who is currently recovering from a scary car accident. Bryson said that Tiger sent him a text on Sunday morning.

“‘Keep fighting, no matter what happens,’” DeChambeau said Tiger texted him. “‘And play boldly, like Mr. Palmer said.’”

Bryson DeChambeau took Tiger’s advice, and played boldly, all right. The craziest part about DeChambeau is that he didn’t always have the ball-striking ability that he currently puts on display. Over the past year, DeChambeau has bulked up and completely re-invented his game.

I’d say the new-look DeChambeau is working out just fine. He seems to have the approval of Tiger Woods, as well.
