Billie Jean King Weighs in on the Sarah Fuller Hate

Billie Jean King to the rescue!  Vanderbilt kicker Sarah Fuller set the internet on fire when she became the first woman in the Power 5 to ever play for a men’s college football team. Since she made her kicking debut, fans have been extremely harsh on her. She even had to defend her one kickoff, a squib kick which appeared to casual observers as though she couldn’t kick.

That wasn’t the case, as it was a designed kick.

Now the backlash is continuing as Sarah Fuller and Vanderbilt prepare to play her second game. One pioneer in women’s sports is coming to her defense. Tennis legend Billie Jean King dropped a comment on a recent post, which exposed all the hatred Sarah has been receiving as of late:

These boys and men have mothers and sisters and aunts and grandmas, girlfriends and wives. Would they share these comments with them, or talk to them like this?

Vanderbilt plays No. 10 Georgia on Saturday. Let’s hope Sarah Fuller doesn’t give these trolls any more reasons to spew their hate filled nonsense.
