Bill Belichick Mistakenly Congratulated Brian Flores For Getting Giants Job, Leading To The Most Awkward Exchange Of All-Time

Bill Belichick needs to get his former assistants in order.

It was announced earlier in the week that former Patriots offensive assistant, Brian Daboll, was slated to be the next head coach of the New York Giants.

In the days leading up to the hire, Bill Belichick received inside intel that the Giants were set to hire Brian Daboll. But when he went to his phone to congratulate him on the gig, he mistakenly texted Brian Flores — who was also interviewing for the job.

The exchange led to Flores getting his hopes up that Belichick heard something he didn’t, before Bill finally realized he made a terrible mistake.

Bill Belichick is now the subject of the most awkward exchange I have ever seen.

Not only did he get the names mixed up on his phone. But it was such a coincidence that he actually ended up texting a guy who was in the running for the same exact job.

Now, Brian Flores will be left hoping one of the other five teams looking for a head coach will give him a shot. And Brian Daboll will be the guy leading the Giants for the future.
