Barstool Sports Falsely Linked To Travis Hunter’s Decision To Flip From FSU To Jackson State

Earlier today, #1 college football recruit, Travis Hunter, shocked the sports world when he announced that he was flipping his commitment from Florida State to Jackson State.

Immediately, fans flocked to social media to wonder how JSU coach Deion Sanders was able to pull off this unprecedented move.

Deion Sanders joined Barstool Sports to host a podcast earlier in the year. And after Travis Hunter announced his decision, it was reported that he already has an NIL deal in place with Sanders’ company.

However, after that report of Travis Hunter having a deal with Barstool started circulating, it was revealed that there was no truth to any of that.

“Florida State has always been a beacon for me,” Travis Hunter said in his Twitter post on Wednesday. “I grew up down there, that’s where my roots are, and I never doubted that I would play for the Seminoles.

“It’s a dream that is hard to let go of, but sometimes we are called to step into a bigger future than the one we imagined for ourselves. For me, that future is at Jackson State University.”

Since the new NIL rules took effect, the college sports dynamic has completely flipped – with kids now mindful of where they can get the best sponsorship deals before making decisions.

Perhaps Barstool Sports had something to do with Travis Hunter flipping to Jackson State. But I think we all know he would have had plenty of financial opportunities at Florida State, as well.
