Baker Mayfield Responds to Heat From National Media

The Cleveland Browns laid an egg against the rival Steelers last weekend, and Baker Mayfield looked as if he’s completely regressed to his play of last season. His statline for the season thus far is less than impressive, to say the least.

The National Media went hard at Mayfield following the drubbing, and the former Heisman winner responded to his haters in a Zoom Call this week:

“I don’t give a damn what they say,” Baker said during Wednesday’s Zoom press conference. “We know we can be better. I know I can be better. The outside noise doesn’t matter. They get paid to talk, and we get paid to do our work…so that’s the way it’s going to be handled.”

His wife Emily also had some things to say about all the hate aimed towards her husband.

This is kind of the cycle Baker is stuck in. He plays well, then he doesn’t.

Baker may just be an average quarterback. That’s what it’s looking  like. He’s had enough games under his belt at this point to adequately measure him as an NFL QB.

And it’s really not all that great.
