Baker Mayfield Has Requested to be Traded to Only One Team Following Deshaun Watson Trade

What a roller coaster for Baker Mayfield.

First he wants out, then he’s not allowed out, and now he’s back on the trade market. According to Jeff Howe of The Athletic, Mayfield has already picked out his top landing spot.

Now it appears Mayfield has his sights set on the Indianapolis Colts.

“Baker Mayfield has informed the Browns that he’d prefer to be traded to the Colts, per sources. Earlier this week, prior to Mayfield’s trade request, the Browns said they’d work with him on a trade,” Howe announced on Twitter. “We’ll see if they’ll accommodate such a move to the AFC, though.”

Former NFL QB Dan Orlovsky certainly believes this is the best fit for Mayfield.

“If I were him, I would do everything in my power to get to Colts,” Orlovsky tweeted. “If I were Indy, I’d make the call to see the cost, cause as of today that’s their best option.”

The Colts are certainly in the quarterback market, but it’s unclear if they value Mayfield as much as he values them.

Mayfield was playing through a shoulder injury last season, but it wasn’t his throwing shoulder.

He will enter into this season fully healthy, but at this point who knows where he’ll be playing.
