Anthony Rizzo Reveals Decision Not To Take COVID Vaccine

Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo has joined a long list of prominent athletes who have opted against taking the vaccine for COVID-19.

Across all major sports, coaches and front offices are urging their players to take the vaccine. Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians even revealed that he was setting up a vaccine station at minicamp with hopes that players would go for it.

Anthony Rizzo joined the likes of Montez Sweat, Sam Darnold, Josh Allen, and other athletes who don’t think it’s worth it to take the vaccine.

Rizzo made his announcement on the decision during a radio appearance on ESPN Chicago on Friday morning.

Anthony Rizzo Is Not Alone

The Chicago Cubs have basically already conceded to the fact that they will not be one of the teams who gets 85% of players and team personnel vaccinated in order to get some leeway with protocols. And president of baseball ops Jed Hoyer recently talked about his disappointment with the players’ decisions.

So far, Anthony Rizzo is the first Cubs player to openly reveal that he will not be taking the vaccine. But I’m sure there are plenty of other Cubs players who feel the same way.
