The Andy Dalton-Justin Fields conundrum appeared to have sorted itself out during the Bears game on Sunday.
After Dalton left the game with an apparent knee injury, it was Justin Fields time – something Bears fans everywhere have been calling for since the preseason.
But as an MRI proved no tear in the ACL for Andy Dalton, the Bears made an announcement that he was still their quarterback if he’s healthy enough to play.
#Bears PR just came into the media room to deliver a message from Matt Nagy:
Andy Dalton is the team's starting quarterback when he is healthy.

After Justin Fields led the Bears to a victory over the Bengals on Sunday, coach Matt Nagy was non-committal when talking about who his starting quarterback was going forward.
Reporter: “Is Andy [Dalton] still your starter if healthy?"
Matt Nagy: “That’s something that I’m not going to get into with scheme.”
Reporter: “That’s not scheme.”
Nagy: “Yes it is."

It’s still not clear if Andy Dalton will be good to go when the team takes on the Cleveland Browns next week.
And it would be hard to believe that Nagy and co. would turn the team back over to Dalton if Justin Fields were to impress when given his chance to start under center.
But right now, it appears that the team is still committed to Andy Dalton. We’ll see how long that lasts…
