Andy Dalton Wants Everyone To Know He’s The Bears’ Starting QB: ‘It’s My Time’

When the Bears made the decision to move off of Mitchell Trubisky after last season, they had a tall task ahead. They didn’t have great position in the NFL Draft, and the free agent market was rather dry at the quarterback position. They ended up settling on Andy Dalton.

But to everyone’s surprise, the Bears were able to move up in the draft to select Justin Fields, turning their fan base from despair to joy.

For now, the Bears have maintained that the plan is to start Andy Dalton, giving Fields time to develop.

Dalton has been asked about his job all throughout Training Camp. And when speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Dalton made it clear that it’s his “time”.

During the Bears’ first preseason game against the Dolphins, Andy Dalton only played for a couple of series, while Justin Fields electrified the crowd at Soldier Field for an extended period of time.

This led to the hysteria around Fields, and the outcry for him to be the team’s Week One starter against the Los Angeles Rams.

For now, it doesn’t appear that Bears fans will get their wish. But the second Andy Dalton begins to struggle, the pressure will be on Chicago to turn to the rookie.
