Longtime offensive lineman Andrew Whitworth got to ride off into the sunset.
After winning the Super Bowl Championship last season, Whitworth officially announced what many had seen coming for a long time now: that he was retiring from the NFL.

Shortly after Andrew Whitworth made his retirement announcement, a video started circulating the web of the veteran lineman embracing his family on the field after the Super Bowl win.
Immediately, Whitworth made it clear to his kids that he had just played his last game in the NFL.
"That was daddy's last football game."

It’s a decently classy move by the NFL not to release the telling footage until Andrew Whitworth had, in fact, made his official announcement that he was hanging up the cleats.
Now, Big Whit will focus on life with his family, and I’m sure he could get a job in sports media — if that’s the route he decides to go down.
Either way, the LA Rams are going to have a huge void to fill both on the field and in the locker room without Andrew Whitworth’s presence next season.
