Ratings on live sports are down across the board. And baseball’s ratings are not looking too good either. Yes, the 2020 World Series is on pace to be the least-watched of all time.
Game 3 of the Los Angeles Dodgers-Tampa Bay Rays continued its trend of record-lows.

The early ratings saw the Series come in with a network average of 1.3 over its three-hour time slot. Game four was much of the same, and even Adele’s SNL episode topped the game.
Via Decider.com:
What happened was the second highest-rated episode of the season, drawing in over 5 million viewers and a 2.4 Nielsen rating, compared to Fox’s broadcast of game 4 of the World Series between the Tampa Bay Rays and the L.A. Dodgers which had 4.7 million. The rating marks a 28% increase in viewership over last year’s Halloween episode.
The pandemic is definitely changing viewer’s habits. It’s also election season, which may or may not have something to do with viewers tuning out. It’s much more fun to go to a baseball than watch at home, but at this point we should all be happy we actually have live sports to watch.
