A Chicago Bears Fan Wrote A Letter To The Team’s Ownership Demanding They Sell The Team And Actually Got A Response

The Chicago Bears’ fan base is pretty down in the dumps this offseason.

It feels like ages ago when the Bears finished 12-4 in 2018, when Matt Nagy won coach of the year, and Mitchell Trubisky looked like he was going to grow into a franchise quarterback. Now, Nagy is on the hot seat after going 16-16 since his first season, Trubisky is likely to sign elsewhere, and the team appears to be stuck in mediocrity.

This leaves Bears fans back to where they were pre-2018. Back to realizing that the team has really never strung together winning seasons under the McCaskey family ownership. One fan took it upon himself to write a letter to team chairman George McCaskey, demanding that he sell the team. That’s not the surprising part. The shocker is that McCaskey actually took the time to respond.

In a short but sweet note, George McCaskey wrote, “Thank you for your recent letter. We are going to stick with it.”

You Have to kind of respect George McCaskey for this move. He may know absolutely nothing about how to build a football franchise, but at least he gives the fans the time of day. Even if it did come in the form of a snarky response.

I’m sure even George McCaskey has to sympathize with his fan base. It has been so long since the Bears were a legitimate Super Bowl contender. It’ll likely be a while until they’re back to the playoffs, as well.
