Unexpected Team Tops NFL in Ticket Revenue

Looks like America’s team has nothing on the Raiders.

The Las Vegas Raiders generated the highest revenue from ticket sales in the NFL this past season, according to Sportico, just two years after moving to Nevada and opening up Allegiant Stadium.

“The Las Vegas Raiders opened their $1.9 billion home, Allegiant Stadium, just ahead of the 2020 NFL season, but fans were barred from games for another 12 months, due to COVID-19.”

The Raiders made $119 million despite having the third-smallest capacity in the league at 65,000 and selling the 25th-most tickets.

Raiders tickets at Allegiant Stadium averaged $595 on the secondary market, which far-surpassed the second-highest team, the Miami Dolphins, which averaged $387.

This is definitely due to the Raiders playing in a destination city.

Vegas is the perfect backdrop for NFL Games. Clearly the NFL’s gamble in Sin City has paid off.
