Justin Fields Was Asked Point Blank If He Felt Matt Nagy Put Him In Position To Succeed

Thankfully for Chicago Bears fans everywhere, Justin Fields will no longer be paired with head coach Matt Nagy.

After just one season working alongside Fields, the Bears saw enough to know that Nagy’s offensive system wasn’t going to work with the young QB.

Now, the Bears have brought in defensive-minded Matt Eberflus as head coach, and have Luke Getsy from the Packers to come in and build the offense for Fields.

While fans would probably like to hear Justin Fields say he’s happy to see Matt Nagy gone, the QB opted instead to take the high road when he was asked if he felt he was put in position to be successful in 2021.

Last season, the Bears named Andy Dalton their quarterback at first. But after injuries and inconsistent play, they turned to Fields pretty early on in the season.

During his one season in Nagy’s system, Fields struggled to find a rhythm. In 10 games started, Fields threw for just seven touchdowns to go along with 10 interceptions on the season.

Now, the Bears will undoubtedly hope that Justin Fields can take the next step in his development. And deep down, he’s probably happy to be working with a coach not named Matt Nagy going forward.
