Big Ben Weighs in on Heinz Field Name Change

Ben Roethlisberger is just one of many who’s not a fan of the of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ new stadium name.

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Monday that the stadium, known as Heinz Field since it opened all the way back in 2001, has been renamed to Acrisure Stadium. Roethlisberger, affectionately known as Big Ben,  played his entire 18-year career as the Steelers’ starting quarterback before retiring this past January, took to Twitter to sound off on the name change, saying, “it doesn’t seem right or real!”

Multiple other members of Steeler Nation commented on the name change on social media, including guard Kevin Dotson and former offensive lineman Trai Essex.

Terms of Acrisure’s 15-year naming-rights deal have not been released.

Acrisure, which operates as a top-10 global insurance broker, has grown its revenue to more than $3.8 billion in just over eight years.

Money always talks.
