One Potential Trade Partner Reportedly ‘Monitoring’ The Donovan Mitchell Situation Closely

Have we seen the end of Donovan Mitchell in Utah?

After the Jazz lost their playoff series to the Mavericks, rumors immediately began swirling that they might look to deal Mitchell and/or Rudy Gobert this Summer.

Given the current situation, many were quick to point out the Heat as a potential landing spot for Donovan Mitchell.

As the dust has settled, it looks like the Heat would be interested in acquiring Donovan Mitchell during the offseason.

“[Julius] Randle is a Dallas native, but [William] Wesley and [New York] Knicks president Leon Rose were hired away from CAA, the agency that represents Mitchell, to pilot the franchise,” wrote Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer. “And New York’s front office has so far been unable to deliver the All-Star talent coups that organizations expect former agents-turned-executives such as Bob Myers and Rob Pelinka to deliver. The Miami Heat are being mentioned as another franchise that’s closely monitoring Mitchell’s status in Utah.”

Even without an addition like Donovan Mitchell, the Heat are doing just fine.

Tonight, they have a chance of finishing their series against the Sixers, and have asserted themselves as one of the real contenders left in the playoffs.

However, if the Heat were to fall apart somewhere down the line, perhaps they’ll look to make a big splash this offseason. And Donovan Mitchell would certainly be just that.
