Odds to Win the MLB All-Star Game MVP Revealed

The 2022 MLB All-Star Game is tonight at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles with the FOX broadcast starting at 7:30 p.m. ET. It’s the usual  American League vs. National League, which is always a good time. Definitely the best All-Star game  among the big 3 sports.

The last time Chavez Ravine hosted the Midsummer Classic was 42 years ago in 1980,  the NL won 4-2. Of course it’s always fun to bet on the game, and one of the most popular bets is the MVP of the game. Midseason hardware goes to the Midsummer Classic’s top player in an award renamed for Hall of Famer Ted Williams in 2002. The award debuted in 1962, when it was given after each of the two All-Star Games that summer, and it’s been given to one player since.

The following are a list of players to consider for MVP bets (odds via FanDuel Sportsbook).

Shohei Ohtani, SP/DH, Angels (+480)

Ohtani has the opportunity to dig into the batter’s box and toe the rubber on Tuesday evening. His two-way play gives him plenty of opportunity to stand out.

Aaron Judge, OF, Yankees (+600)

Judge  heads into the break with a 1.167 OPS over his last six games. Judge is capable of earning MVP honors completely on merit. However, he’s also a larger-than-life presence representing one of the game’s premier brands. It won’t take a lot from Judge for the voters to name him MVP.

Mookie Betts, OF, Dodgers (+950)

Betts is the first of the hometown Dodgers player who is most likely to nab the award. Always a good bet.

Trea Turner, SS, Dodgers (+2000)

Turner’s case for MVP is similar to Betts’. Both Betts and Turner are in the National League’s starting lineup, so bettors should be able to expect at least two at-bats.

Freddie Freeman, 1B, Dodgers (+6000)

Freddie Freeman is having one hell of a season, so never count him out.
