Tiger is back, and by the looks of it, he hasn’t lost a step.
Just 13½ months after a car crash left Woods with leg injuries so severe that doctors considered amputation, Tiger returned to Augusta National with a one-under-par opening round on Thursday.
Tiger received a standing O when he finished the 18th:

Twitter had plenty to say about Tiger’s opening round.
See below:
Not sure how he did it given the circumstances… but it’s why he’s the #GOAT.
Slowed everything down.
Stayed in the moment. What a performance (once again) from @TigerWoods. pic.twitter.com/iEeb00skSb

.@TigerWoods isn't human. Shooting a -1 at @TheMasters after almost losing his leg a little over a year ago. Just an incredible display of will. #themasters

Tiger Woods was pulled from a mangled single-car accident wreckage 14 months ago. He just opened #theMasters with a one-under-par 71. Unreal story

I don’t think it can be overstated how incredible @TigerWoods performance was today. The man was lucky to survive a car wreck and damn near lost his leg 14 mos. ago. Just fired a 71 at the Masters for a tie for 9th in the first round. He’s 1st tournament since the 2020 Masters. pic.twitter.com/XnXJ5ryFsd

People have spent decades glorifying & idolizing Tiger, giving him the most attention of any golfer, maybe any athlete ever. Those same people are now in awe & disbelief of his performance today. Why are we surprised, acting as if it’s impossible? He’s Tiger Woods. #themasters

It is still very early, but Woods is positioned to at least make a run up the leaderboard if his leg can hold up.
Tiger has been doing this his entire life, to him it’s like riding a bike.
