Carolina Panthers Playoff Lines: What Oddsmakers Think of Skip Bayless’ Latest Hot Take Surrounding Baker Mayfield

As newly-named Carolina Panthers starting quarterback, Baker Mayfield, was carving up the Buffalo Bills secondary during the team’s preseason win on Friday night, and many were quick to hop on the bandwagon.

Unsurprisingly, FS1 host Skip Bayless is one of the people who think the preseason performance is a sign of things to come for Mayfield and the Panthers this year.

Bayless is so in on the Panthers, that he thinks they will make a serious run to the postseason this year.

During the game on Friday night, Bayless doubled-down on his Baker take.

“Baker Mayfield looks … sensational. Steal of the Century. Arm is LIVE. Quick-footed mobility is back. He’s finally completely healthy. Back to being the “hopeless underdog” for a team ranked 32nd through the offseason. HERE COMES CAROLINA,” Bayless tweeted.

Carolina Panthers Futures:

Unfortunately for Skip Bayless, Vegas oddsmakers aren’t as impressed with Baker Mayfield’s Panthers than he is.

Per Draftkings, the Panthers are a long shot to make the playoffs at +350. Check out more of their futures odds below:

  • To Make Playoffs: yes +350 No -450
  • Regular season wins: o/u 6.5
  • To Win NFC South: +900
  • To Win NFC: +7000
  • To Win Super Bowl: +13000

Despite many people sleeping on his new team, Baker Mayfield is confident, and excited to play in front of his new fan base during the regular season.

“Obviously, the rain delay wasn’t very friendly to our fans,” Mayfield said of his first outing at Bank of America Stadium via Yahoo Sports. “But it was a good experience for us. Obviously, two weeks from now, it’s gonna be the real thing. So get a little first taste of it. But ready for that stadium to be full capacity and rockin’.”
