Jimmy Garoppolo’s Odds: Lines on His Next Team From Seahawks to Falcons

The clock is ticking on Jimmy G being moved.

Former starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo remains on the roster following the Niners final preseason game.

After having shoulder surgery back in March, Jimmy Garoppolo passed his physical when reporting to training camp last month and has been cleared to throw. The Niners would ideally like to trade Garoppolo and his $24.2 million, non-guaranteed salary in exchange for some type of draft compensation, given the fact they have already announced the Trey Lance Era has begun.

But so far, there have been no takers throughout the league.  However the odds for which team will land Jimmy have changed a bit.

Seahawks: +250
Texans: +400
Giants: +550
Buccaneers: +850
Browns: +900
Dolphins: +1100
Saints: +1200
Falcons: +1200

The Seahawks at +250 have the best hypothetical odds to snag Garoppolo as their new quarterback, making a move to pick him up and start him over Drew Lock or Geno Smith could be an upgrade.

But it seems that Pete Carroll believes his guys are both starting Quarterbacks.

Tampa Bay’s odds to land Garoppolo on the roster in 2022 are sitting at +850.  Hard to fathom Jimmy G going back to being Tom Brady’s backup, but it would only be for a year.

At any rate, Jimmy G is a solid QB with a history of winning games, but he’s not looked at like a franchise savior. Jimmy might just end up sticking things out as a backup in San Fran.
