Jason Whitlock and ESPN’s Katie Nolan got into it on Twitter after Whitlock wrote a column on Outkick which basically asserted that Maria Taylor was an ESPN host because she’s attractive.
Taylor made headlines this weekend after it was revealed that she left Anthony Davis off her first, second, and third All-NBA team ballots, which is, um, interesting to say the least. This didn’t escape Fox Sports’ Doug Gottlieb, who questioned why Taylor even had a vote in the first place,
Why does Maria Taylor have a vote? Real question. She is a studio host/sideline reporter in her first year covering the NBA. She works a ton, not just on the league. No reason for her to have a vote https://t.co/Sy2M2jW9Pb
— Doug Gottlieb (@GottliebShow) September 19, 2020
This set off a Twitter firestorm which mainly entailed Twitter users trashing Gottlieb for his misogynistic take. This, of course, didn’t escape the always controversial Jason Whitlock who can always best be described as a clown.
Jason Whitlock captioned his tweet of the column with this quote from it.
“Beauty transformed Katie Nolan from bartender to seven-figure personality, Emmy Award-winner and the darling of aroused bloggers and TV critics willing to ignore her pedestrian humor and inability to execute live television.”

Katie Nolan locked her Twitter account following Whitlock’s column in anticipation of the shitstorm that would likely ensue, but did respond to Whitlock with this tweet,
“you’re *this close* to making an actual point about the expectation of women to not only be good at their job but also beautiful, but actual points don’t pay the bills huh. keep this same energy next time I see you though.”
Whitlock has built his career by writing shit like this which makes him a perfect fit for Clay Travis’ website Outkick which features more “contrarian” opinions.
As expected, Jason Whitlock’s feed became littered with opinions of those who both agreed with Whitlock, but more so of those who despise the man. Whitlock is the ultimate instigator, and he loves nothing more than to outrage and divide. The guy is a clown, but a clown who knows exactly what he’s doing and the role he serves.
