Mike Tomlin Starting To Fall In Love With Malik Willis

Count Mike Tomlin right there with the many fans and members of the media who are starting to fall in love with draft prospect Malik Willis.

Through the combine and Pro Day process, Willis has seemingly taken over the reigns as the top quarterback in next month’s NFL Draft.

On Tuesday, Malik Willis went viral again over another ridiculous throw with potential NFL teams watching over him.

People watching the video were quick to notice that Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was all smiles watching Malik Willis pull off the ridiculous pass.

During an interview after his Pro Day, Malik Willis revealed that he had dinner with Mike Tomlin — who chose chicken wings as his entree — on Monday night.

“He’s a normal dude. … Eating his chicken wings over there, I’m like, ‘Mike Tomlin’s eating chicken wings?’”

Mike Tomlin’s Steelers were in the QB market for the first time in nearly two decades after Ben Roethlisberger finally announced his retirement.

Instead of being stuck with Mason Rudolph as their next QB, the Steelers signed free agent Mitchell Trubisky to be their QB1 for now. But that’s not to say they won’t be in the running for a quarterback in the draft, and based on Tomlin’s actions this week, it appears they’re all-in on Willis.

The Steelers would likely have to trade up for their #20 overall pick in the draft to select Malik Willis. But it sure looks like Mike Tomlin’s interest in the QB might end up forcing the front office’s hand.
