Christian Kirk’s Jaguars Contract has Everyone Turning Their Heads

NFL receiver Christian Kirk was bound to have a big market during free agency. But his contract with the Jaguars had pretty much everyone scratching the heads.

The Jags officially signed the former Arizona Cardinal to a four-year $84 Million contract on Monday afternoon.

Terry McLaurin, Deebo Samuel, AJ Brown, Hunter Renfrow and DK Metcalf are all extension eligible this offseason.

Was Christian Kirk’s Contract Worth It?

During his four years as a complimentary receiver on the Cardinals, Christian Kirk put up some decent numbers. He hauled in a total of 236 passes for 2,902 yards and 17 touchdowns. Kirk’s best season came last year — when he had 982 receivers yards to go along with five touchdowns.

Kirk should be a solid add for Trevor Lawrence on the Jaguars. But now that he’s set the market for free agent receivers, the price tag for a bunch of stars has to be going way up.

I’d imagine a guy like Davante Adams is licking his chops after looking at how much money Christian Kirk just made.
