Some athletes are being very coy about their vaccine status, with some deciding to keep the info to themselves. Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Dak Prescott is the latest athlete to decline to reveal whether or not he was received a vaccine for COVID-19. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback said that he won’t tell teammates to get the vaccine, and it’s up to each individual to decide for themselves.
âFor me I think itâs important just for everybody to educate themselves on the reason of why to get vaccinated and why it can either help in their cause or maybe help the world,â Prescott said in an interview with Newy Scruggs of NBC DFW.
âBut itâs not necessarily something Iâd like to share or something Iâd like to promote or say âhey, you should, you shouldnât,ââ Prescott said. âBecause when youâre putting in a vaccination obviously youâre putting something thatâs foreign that obviously the experts put together and made the decision that thatâs the best way to go about it, but itâs all up to your belief and Iâm not the one to try to move people and tell them, âhey, you need to do this, you need to do thatâ because we all react individual to everything.â
Dak Prescott on what he expects from the Cowboys this season: âImprovement, a lot of improvementâŠWeâve all approached the offseason, we approached the season the right way. Weâre just excitedâŠItâs gonna be very, very special for us and for Cowboys fans.â https://t.co/YJUeS9db9I

Social Media reacted to his decision:
Iâm a Dak supporter. I like the guy. Iâm glad he got paid. Iâm glad heâs our QB & I admire how his teammates view him as a leader. But once again, the dude disappoints when it comes to these off the field issues. His stance on kneeling. His stance on vaccines. Very disappointing.

It affects everybody that will come in contact with him, so of course it's not a personal decision

Not for a private business whose paying you enormous sums of money. Sorry bud. Imagine getting a variant and ruining everyone's season in organization and/or spreading it.

Tell everyone you didnât get it without telling everyone you didnât get it

Guy loses a year to something he can't control and chooses to possibly screw the team with something that is totally under his control. Lol

Itâs not a personal decision the moment you take the opportunity to re-engage and socialize (without mask / distancing) with people who do not reside in your immediate household. Itâs now a decision that impacts the public at large.

Not sure why it’s so hard to tell people you got the vaccine.
Not sure what their thinking is…
