Troy Aikman Thinks The Cowboys Have A Very Clear Decision To Make Concerning Dak Prescott

The Dallas Cowboys are on the precipice of making the playoffs despite not having their star quarterback. This raises questions about what the future holds for Dak Prescott. However, Cowboys legend Troy Aikman believes he knows exactly what the right decision is concerning Dak. In an interview with 105.3 The Fan, Aikman said that Dallas should give Dak the contract extension he’s been looking for.

Dak Prescott is set to become a free agent in 2021 unless the Cowboys reach an agreement with him. The Cowboys will have to make a decision soon if they don’t want to see their star quarterback run free. Here is what Troy Aikman had to say about their dilemma.

“Dak checks every box in my opinion… I wouldn’t hesitate at all to pay him,” Aikman said. “…I would sleep real good if I had Dak Prescott locked up with a big contract and not be worrying about his commitment to the team and commitment to winning.”

Giving Dak Prescott the long term deal he wants has been in the works with Dallas for quite a while now. Unfortunately, his season-ending injury gave them some cause to pause. The quarterback position is easily the least expendable position in football, so unless they are presented with a better option the Cowboys may not have much of a choice but to extend Dak.

Dak Prescott is 42-27 as a starter with a completion rate of 66-percent. His touchdown to interception rate is 106-40 and he has posted some of the best passing seasons in Dallas Cowboys history.

Troy Aikman believes the decision for the Cowboys’ front office should be a no-brainer. And it seems to be in the mind of everyone but Jerry Jones. I guess we will soon find out what the future holds for Dak Prescott.
