You’re No Good Defender! Arsenal Legend Tony Adams Blasts Hector Bellerin’s Display In Derby Defeat

Tony Adams didn’t hold back in his criticism of Hector Bellerin following Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat to Tottenham in the North London derby on Sunday evening.

The guy was seriously pissed, and so would be anyone who watched the right-back trying to defend leading up to Son Heung-Min’s opener.

“You’ve got Cedric in from Southampton, what’s that recruitment going on?”, the ex-Arsenal defender snapped angrily while speaking on Premier League Productions.

“You need someone who is better than Hector. Or if you think that Hector is OK, then work with him. Don’t get him on the right wing. Sit there morning and afternoon with the kid and make him a full-back.

“He’s no better or no worse than Lee Dixon when he came to the club. We had little Lee Dixon, he was up that right wing playing like a right winger. And I went, ‘Oi Dicko, come here. Sit here, learn your job. First and foremost, stop that ball going in that back of the net’.

“Where was Hector when the first goal went in? He was up the pitch. Do your job first. Learn how to be a good defender, keep clean sheets and take it from there.”

OK, you feel Tony was really, really pissed. And I don’t blame him one bit. Hector’s showing really sucks.

But he was not alone: he had company. Just watch Rob Holding more closely..

What in the heavens was Holding doing there? Notice how he shimmied completely away from the advancing Son? To think he was still naively trying to mind his man Reguilón who already strayed far too inside with that run.

But show some balls. Take that risk. Step out and put in some f***ing challenge. If it blows up, then so be it, you’re still gonna concede after all.

Sorry, Tony. This Arsenal defence will give you migraines.
