Usain Bolt Wins the Name Game; Move Over *@$!-:) Musk, There’s a Great Baby Name in Town

Olympic superstar and possibly the greatest sprinter ever born, Usain Bolt, was a winner again on Tuesday. Formally announcing the arrival of his daughter, who was born in May, Bolt shared the baby’s name and photo with the world for the first time and both are sublime and perfect.

Bolt, the fastest man on Earth and one of history’s greatest Olympians, and his girlfriend, Kasi Bennet, named their daughter Olympia Lightning? Yep, Usain Bolt just won the international celebrity baby-naming contest, and, like in his races, I’m not sure anyone is going to get particularly close for a while.

In a post on social media, Bolt said “Now we have started a new chapter together with our daughter Olympia Lightning Bolt, I look forward to what the future will bring for us but be reassured that I will be the ROCK for this family.” He continued the sentiment in a later post featuring beautiful portrait shots of the two women in his life.

If you somehow don’t remember him or you weren’t lucky enough to see him run, Usain Bolt is the only sprinter to win the 100 and 200 meter events in three consecutive Olympics. He won a total of eight gold medals in his Olympic career, winning in two relay events as well. Bolt still holds the World Records in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay. He was also an athlete with a big heart and a winning smile.

I can’t stop admiring the amazing name selection. Olympia Lightning Bolt, it’s just flawless. She’d just better not grow up slow of foot with that handle.

Usain Bolt and his family chose a perfect name, but this seems like a difficult chore for a lot of people.
