Trae Young Wanted To Hear ‘F You’ Chants From Knicks Fans

The first weekend of the NBA Playoffs has not disappointed. Now, we may just have a brand new NBA villain in our midst too in Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young.

Young and the Hawks took on the New York Knicks in Game 1 of their First Round series on Sunday. With the game tied in the final seconds, Young laced up his clutch kicks and went to work.

BALL GAME!!! Hawks win!

As one might reasonably expect, the Knicks fans inside Madison Square Garden were silenced after that bucket. Trae Young sure noticed the drop in noise level.

But wait, it gets better!

In his postgame interview, Trae Young openly admitted that he wanted all of the “love” the Knicks fans were raining on him. The 22-year-old said he enjoyed hearing every ‘F You’ chant hurled his way by the disgruntled New Yorkers.

Well, hit a game-winning floater on a tightly-contested drive and you’ll get plenty more of those chants.

Social media was quick to compare Trae Young to Reggie Miller following those postgame remarks.

I’m not old enough to remember that era of the NBA, but I have done a fair bit of reading into sports history. Honestly, anytime jokes are made at the expense of Knicks fans, I’m all for it.

After dropping 32 points, dishing 10 assists and hitting the game-winner in Game 1, it’s clear that Young is hell-bent on spoiling New York’s first playoff appearance in eight years.
