Tokyo Olympics Have A Kirk Cousins Mentality About The 2021 Games

Tokyo has officially said screw the global pandemic. With or without COVID, the 2020 Olympic games will happen in Tokyo starting on July 23, 2021. This is according to the IOC Vice President John Coates.  The Tokyo Olympics will be the “games that conquered COVID,” said the veep. I’m sure you all heard Kirk Cousins’ recent sentiment that was only slightly misquoted; well it looks like the Tokyo Olympics feel the same. The 2020 Olympics are happening next year even if it kills all of the Olympians.

I was a little taken aback by the Kirk Cousins quote, however, I am all for the Tokyo Olympics proceeding during a global pandemic. If the pandemic is still going on next July I’ll be down for anything at that point, honestly. I love the Olympics. Tokyo is a beautiful city for the Summer Games. Pandemic be damned. The 2020 Olympic games are happening (in 2021). COVID is starting to get up there with cancer for me. Screw it. I absolutely hate it. I haven’t personally lost anyone to it, but I still hate it. It sucks. The show must go on. And that’s exactly what the Tokyo Olympics have decided to do. Again, in 2021. However, the games are going to happen and I am 100% here for it.

I’m not a big fan of Michigan State alum, Kirk Cousins. No, I don’t like that. Regardless, if we have Cousins to thank for the continuation of the 2020/2021 Tokyo Olympics then so be it. Sports are back. The Tokyo Olympics are back. Let’s rock and roll sports fans.
