Tiger Woods Undergoes Yet Another Back Surgery, Hopes To Be Ready For Masters

Tiger Woods announced today that he has undergone another back surgery. This is reportedly Tiger Woods’ fifth back surgery in his career, and it will force the GOAT to miss some of the tournaments he had on his schedule, which may include the Masters.

“I look forward to begin training and am focused on getting back out on Tour,” Tiger said in a statement released on his Twitter.

It is actually amazing how many surgeries Tiger Woods has had in his career given that he is the most in-shape athlete ever to play in the PGA Tour. According to Daniel Rapaport of Golf Digest, this marks Tiger’s 10th overall surgery. That’s right, ten.

I’d expect that Tiger Woods will be back for some tune up tournaments, and will have his eyes on being in peak shape for the Masters in April. After all, what would the Masters be without Tiger Woods walking around Augusta National?

At 45-years-old, Tiger Woods is a mere image of the golfer he once was. Which is saying something, because Tiger is still pretty damn good. I still think it’s possible that Tiger has one or two Major Championship wins in him, if he stays healthy.

Best of luck to Tiger on his recover, the PGA is simply better when Tiger Woods is out there competing.
