The Tampa Bay Rays Had A Party For The Ages And Threw Shade At Everyone After Defeating The Yankees

Mike Brosseau had his hero moment. In a rare form of poetic justice, Brosseau took Aroldis Chapman deep in the bottom of the 8th inning of last night’s win-or-go-home game 5 of the ALDS. The bomb put the Rays up 2-1, and proved to be the game-winner.

While everyone wanted to talk about Brosseau getting his revenge after Chapman nearly hit him in the head with a fastball earlier in the season, Brosseau took the high road.

“The revenge aspect, it’s not a thought in my mind. We put it in the past and we moved on. We moved just straight to business,” Brosseau said via ESPN. “The battle that we’ve had all year with these guys, to go to Game 5 and have such an unbelievably played well-played game, well-executed — you can’t script it any better.”

While Mike Brosseau wanted to focus on the moment, his Tampa Bay Rays teammates threw plenty of shade for him. Here’s some videos of a celebration that appears to have lasted all night for the Rays.

Yep, that’s the Rays (a team made up using about 1/4th the pay roll of the Yankees) trolling the Yankees by playing “Empire state of mind”. It didn’t stop there with, Ji Man Choi made sure to get in a troll job on their next opponent, the Houston Astros.

The Astros were guilty of banging on trash cans in the dugout tunnel to illegally tell the hitter what pitch was coming next. That scandal led to the firing of manager A.J Hinch, and undoubtedly made the Astros the most hated team in the MLB.

The Rays even got in an on-field dance off as part of their massive celebration.

The Tampa Bay Rays have every reason to live it up, and I’m all for it. Let’s hope the celebrations aren’t done for these guys. We all want to see them take down the Astros in the ALCS. It’s time to ride the Rays wagon.
