The Masters Will Honor Tiger Woods At The Champions Dinner Tuesday Night

Just over a month ago, Tiger Woods was involved in a serious one-car accident that left him with some major injuries. A few weeks ago Woods announced that he was back home and recovering from the injuries. “Happy to report that I am back home and continuing my recovery,” he said in a short message for fans. “I am so grateful for the outpouring of support and encouragement that I have received over the past few weeks.”

However, that meant that Tiger Woods would not have a shot to compete in the Masters this weekend. Meanwhile, those at the course will pay tribute to the five-time Masters champion. According to Bleacher Report, the PGA announced a seat will be left open at the Champions Dinner on Tuesday night.

It is sad that Tiger Woods won’t get to compete in the Masters, but it is nice that he is recovering and will be able to watch in the comfort of his own home. It was inevitable that the PGA Tour would find some way to honor the legend at the Masters and they did not fail to deliver.

Tiger Woods has a long history of producing great menus for the Champions Dinner. This year, though, the honor falls to the reigning champion: Dustin Johnson. Earlier this afternoon, the PGA Tour announced what Johnson will be serving at the meal. Take a look and see for yourself.

Some pretty simple options here, but strong overall nonetheless. The Champions Dinner should be a good one this evening.

The Masters are set to kick off on Thursday morning with Dustin Johnson and Jordan Speith listed as co-favorites in sportsbooks. Tiger Woods is one of only three who have donned the green jacket in back-to-back years. Will Johnson be able to follow in his footsteps?
