The New York Jets-Le’Veon Bell marriage was doomed from the start. And now, it looks like they’re finally headed for a conclusion.
BREAKING: Jets are trying to trade Le’Veon Bell, per sources.

It’s no secret Adam Gase has never liked Le’Veon Bell. Mike Maccagnan was still the General Manager when Bell signed his massive four year $52.5 Million deal. Later that offseason, Adam Gase was hired, Maccagnan was fired, and they were left with Le’Veon Bell. Now, Joe Douglas is in the GM chair, and he has to decide what to do with this joke of a football team.
Gase has never been able to get much out of the former All-Pro running back. Since Bell made the move to New York, he hasn’t made much of an impact. In 15 games last season, Bell rushed for only 789 yards.
Bell and Gase have also had their fair share of feuds resulting in passive-aggressive comments to the media. Most recently, Bell was “liking” tweets that were questioning Gase’s usage of him. Gase didn’t like that.
“I hate that’s the route that we go with all this,” Gase said to the NY Daily News. “Instead of just talking to me about it but seems the way that guys want to do it nowadays.”
In Bell’s defense, I wouldn’t really care to talk to Adam Gase either. The man is a lame duck coach, and I’m surprised the Jets brass has yet to pull the plug on what has been a god awful tenure for Gase in New York.

It’ll be interesting to see what the market is for Le’Veon Bell. He’s still only 28-years-old. It does look like he’s lost a step or two, but how much of that could be due to the circumstances? He doesn’t have much to work with in New York, and Gase’s ineptitude may be playing a large role in Bell’s lack of production.
I think a lot of teams will be interested in signing the veteran running back. He’s still a quality back, who can make plays out in space. He’s also one of the better pass-catching backs in the league, making him a viable option on 3rd down.
The Jets would likely have to eat a large portion of Bell’s contract, but I’d like to see what he can bring to the table without Adam Gase holding him back.
