Everson Griffen is a pro’s pro, a guy you want in your locker room. The Dallas Cowboys wasted that.
It was announced today that Everson Griffen was traded to the Detroit Lions. That makes some sense, I guess. The Cowboys are going no where this season, and the Lions feel they could still make a run after securing back-to-back wins.
What doesn’t make sense, is the timing of the deal.
Everson Griffen traded to Detroit. I seriously wonder how many captains have ever been traded the following week.

Happens on awful teams like The Jets. Bad teams need future resources more than they need good players on 1 yr contracts during a season.
Cowboys are a bad team.

You’d think this tactic would bother the veteran Griffen, right? Not the case. It actually seems like Everson Griffen couldn’t wait to get the fuck out of Dallas.
Well I just saw I missed a text from DE Everson Griffen ("Detroit") who was traded by the #Cowboys. Griffen said this on the phone to me just now: "I'm excited. I just got to process everything..I'm gonna reach out to Adrian (Peterson) at some point but I'm going home to pack 1/2

2/2 "…I tried to drop you a quick note on it. It’s cool, a brand new start.” Griffen and @AdrianPeterson played on the same #Vikings team from 2010-2016. Reunited again in Motown. https://t.co/4rheF3M9Fg

I’ve never heard of anyone being excited to play for the Detroit Lions. Especially with the expectations in Dallas this year. This was supposed to be the year that everything clicked. Mike Mccarthy was going to come in and get the most out of Dak and Zeke, thus turning the team into an offensive juggernaut. Not the case. Daks out for the year, Zeke can’t stop fumbling, Mccarthy looks like an idiot, and the defense can’t stop anyone.
It’s time to call out the Cowboys for what they are, an awful football team. Maybe it’s time to trade a lot of assets. I wouldn’t be surprised if Everson Griffen isn’t the only domino to fall.
